Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder - (Full time/Part time job share - Temporary August 09 - April 10 (9 months) - Peninsula Health, Frankston, Vic.

Health Information Services currently has a vacancy of 40 hours per week for a highly motivated Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder.  This position may encompass Frankston, Rosebud and Mt Eliza.

The position will include timely and accurate coding of inpatient episodes using ICD-10-AM and auditing of Casemix data.  The candidate will also be familiar with PRS/2 requirements.

The candidate will have coding experience in ICD-10-Am 6th edition.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superior organisational skills are essential.  Decision making, problem solving and knowledge of computer systems are also essential.

Salary is in accordance with the Health Professional Services Award and will be dependent on experience.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder to join a supportive team at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital as the Health Information Services Manager.

Brisbane Waters Private is located in Woy Woy, on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW.  Woy Woy is only 45 minutes drive from the Northern Suburbs of Sydney.    Working hours can be flexible to allow for travel.

Brisbane Waters Private Hospital has 76 beds, with specialties including cardiac surgery, orthopaedics, obesity surgery, opthalmology, medical service, general surgery and Mental Health.  The hospital also provides patients with a 24-hour chest pain admission service.  There is also an on-site pathology laboratory and Imaging Service.

The Health Information Services Manager has an integral role in the senior management team of the hospital and reports to the General Manager.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • The management of the Health Information Service

  • Co-ordinating responses to medico-legal and other requests for patient information

Cancer Council Queensland is dedicated to eliminating cancer and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, treatment, patient care, prevention and early detection.

We have three positions available within the Queensland Cancer Registry; two permanent full-time positions and one twelve (12) month full-time contract.

The main purpose of the Queensland Cancer Registry is to provide the information needed to understand the nature and extent of cancer in Queensland.  This information is essential in the control and prevention of cancer and is used.

  • To assist research on the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer and is used
  • In monitoring survival times for particular types of cancer, and 
  • In the planning of cancer services.

As a Clinical Coder, you will assist in the day-day processing of the classification/coding and quality assurance of cancer data and ensure the timely production of accurate data in the Queensland Cancer Registry.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience in a clinical coding position however if you have great administration and data entry skills, we would love to hear from you.  You must also have excellent communication skills, the ability to rapidly acquire skills in the collection, processing and compilation of cancer data and be a team player.  Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer programs is essential, as is your integrity and commitment to the respect of confidentiality within the Registry.

Our Clinical Coding department at Middlemore Hospital has two full-time vacancies available for persons who are committed team players and enthusiastic about a career in clinical coding to join our team of 17 coders.  Ideally, a minimum of two years recent coding experience, using ICD-10-AM at a tertiary level health service, a positive outlook and a professional work ethic are essential.
