The position is full time or part-time on a job share arrangement on a fixed term basis to cover the secondment of one of our Health Information Managers to the HealthSmart Project. Mercy Health & Aged Care anticipate the implementation of the Patient & Client Management System in late 2008. Following this, the position will be to cover maternity leave for 12 months commencing in September 2008. Responsibilities include the transmission and reconciliation of PRS/2 data and completion of ICD-10-AM coding including conducting DRG and coding audits involving interactive casemix reviews with clinical staff. You will be participating in the department’s quality improvement program and as such experience with and knowledge of the EQuIP process and commitment to improved measured outcomes is desirable. You will also be required to assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of medical record forms. Obstetric, Gynaecology and Neonatal coding knowledge and a sound understanding of casemix would be highly advantageous. The ability to work within a team environment and meet deadlines is essential along with excellent interpersonal skills. You must also possess the ability to work independently and liaise with all levels of clinical and non-clinical staff. You will hold appropriate qualifications in Health Information Management with proven coding experience.
