2007 OBJECTIVES

Objective 1:

Increase memberships to WAHIMAA by 10% by end of 2007.

1.1       Update the list of WA HIMs and associates, and their contact details.

1.2       Organise more free events to encourage WAHIMAA members to meet more regularly.

1.3       Conduct focus groups into what WA HIMs want of a state based professional association

1.4       Support a State HIM Network and the WA HIM Specified Calling, and provide web space for both groups to display minutes and other communications to keep all HIMs informed of their progress.

1.5       Recruit and encourage participation of a student member on the State Executive.

Objective 2:

Develop a professional education scheme in Western Australia.

2.1       Provide a number of educational events, alone, in collaboration with HISA and in collaboration with Curtin.

Develop and contribute to the HIM Body of Knowledge.

3.1      Hold workshops to discuss what “events” should contribute towards professional credentialing.

3.2          Identify a State liaison officer for the professional journal, advertising that it contributes towards professional credentialing.

3.3      Encourage members to contribute to the professional journal and National conferences/symposiums.

Review and develop the WAHIMAA website.

Objective 5:

Strengthen partnerships with relevant WA organisations through increased collaboration.

Objective 6:

Develop the capacity to be informed at a State level as a prerequisite to contributing on policy matters at National, State and local levels.

6.1      Establish relationships with the Department of Health stakeholders to facilitate information sharing and policy input.

6.2      Gain feedback and provide discussion internally regarding relevant information and policy issues.

Objective 7:

Develop a business model addressing the balance of effort between products/services and review HIMAA’s organisational structure (roles/relationships of Board, Executive, Branches, Committees & National Office).
