Welcome note from HIMAA National President

I have the pleasure of inviting you to attend the HIMAA National Conference to be held in Geelong, Victoria from the 28th - 29th July 2005 at the Sheraton Hotel, Geelong, Victoria, incorporating the Victorian Coding Seminar on 27th July, 2005-04-21.

The theme for the Conference is SeeChange - Moving Ahead. This theme encompasses not only the changes that are taking place in the Healthcare arena, but also the challenges presented to us in health information management systems including how technology is moving our professional skills into the information technology age.

Focusing on the health information management profession, the topics to be presented will also be of interest to all health professionals, looking at the e-health environment, information technology integration into healthcare and change management, dealing with the multitude of changes taking place nationally and internationally.

The program will include plenary presentations, an interactive workshop for medical transcriptionists. Stimulating social and networking activities will also be included in the Conference program, as well as the opportunity to participate in the Victorian Branch's coding education seminar. Plan now to join delegates from around Australia at this important HIMAA event.

In addition, this year the conference committee are planning a trade exhibition for members. The HIMAA National Board will be in attendance so take this opportunity to meet your board representatives. Don't miss this exciting event.
